From our daily walks with Tralee.. I'm a little surprised there haven't been a lot more mushrooms up as it has been a notably wet Spring.

You hit the exposure time for the little stream exactly right.
Although it may look the same, this is a different conservation woodland than others I've posted where we walk Tralee regularly.

That image so captures the way I think of hemlock groves. The combination of deep shade and perhaps some effect of the needles (allelopathy?) leaves much of the ground free of undergrowth, although here and there ferns or partridgeberry will establish patches.

That is a very interesting growth of lichens. SUGGESTION: if you come across it again, get in closer. I think an image covering just the upper area, with the yellow fringe to the right of the image you posted instead along the bottom of the image might be interesting.(= move the camera approximately to the two o'clock position of the image posted, and move int to include just that upper area of the lichen that has three purplish growths on top)

Errinundra NP, East Gippsland, Victoria. A fairly remote area that gets relatively few visitors, but a true gem.

Thanks Peter. Most people don't associate the wide brown land with rainforest, but there are many significant remnants of Gondwana. For anyone interested, more images of Errinundra (and other forests of Eastern Victoria) in my Flickr album: Gippsland & Westernport | Flickr
