Every dog walk brings a little something

And ice diamond studded leaf..

A maple leaf forever... well at least for a little while.

Up where the oak leaves grow.

Some of the fungus among us, and a bit of moss.

A saw tooth Aspen leaf. They usually are very poplar.

A few lichen, just for good measure .

I'm not sure what the status of this is. It looks like a bud hat came out too early and then froze, but maybe it's still alive.

There would be an infinite number, , I just don't have infinite time to go around and capture them all.

This is where I tell you I'd need a longer lens and would have to stop down one stop to get the same DoF.

The ones we have run us ragged. I'm sure a border collie can easily do 40 km per day, I might be good for 15.

More of my "make the most of what presents itself while walking dogs " shots.

Not strictly on topic, but, birch bark

It is the end of winter (even though it was -30 this morning) , it's getting tough to find leaves.

I had to combine the fungus and moss.

I just discovered this thread. Here are a few from the past:

I love wolf willow, from the spring with its foul smelling blooms, right through winter when the dried leaves are wonderful to photograph:

Some years we have a hard frost before the leaves have fallen, leaving great leathery remnants clinging to the trees:

I will have to hunt for some lichen, I know I have some somewhere...

I found some shots from a trip we took to Washington State a few years ago - including a slime mould shot I didn't know I had!

Liverwort

Slime mould on the move...
