I was out for ridge walk today with the K-3 and DA 18-135.
It's my first time out for a real bushwhack in 3 or 4 years. The recovery from the new hip is finally in the end stages and after 4 years, Imight be getting back to some kind of normal.2.5 years while the hip fell apart and 1.5 years since the surgery.

Almost to the top of the first ridge, maybe another 50 feet up to go.

Lots of interesting ice on the rock faces.

The view from the first ridge.

Lichens, twigs, dead leaves and snow

Thanks Rod, I'm still pushing pain thresholds trying to get back to "really tired" at the end of a good walk instead "really tired and really sore, but things are 90% wold be my guess.

Hi normhead! Just wanted to encourage prudence during and after the present storm. So far it's only rain here, but there are reports of much heavier snow in upstate New York than had be expected even just yesterday. Don't be macho about the clearing the snow. Listen to your body and those who care about you, including your fellow Pentaxians.

You may not believe this but we aren't in a snow zone. We haven't seen a flake. The other side of the Algonquin Dome is the snow/rain side, we are on the lee side. I hear my step son in Niagara Falls is being hammered however, but that's like north west New York.
I know y'all think if you are getting hit i trust be coming for Canada, we are, but really, most of your snow doesn't is home grown. Thank westerly winds for that.

Glad you lucked out. We did too. Too far east and too low an altitude for the snow, too far inland for the worst of the wind and of course far from any coastal flooding. Scituate was flooded yet again. I think that makes 40 times since the seawall was built.. For us, just a windy-rainy day - not nice, but not notable or memorable.

A p&s snap of a local creek seen on one of our dogwalking routes last November. It's hard to see in the photo, but there's a steep dropoff into the creek.

Mt Field National Park, Tasmania (It looks like they need a bit of reprocessing; when I took these I had limited control over contrast, etc)
