Almost a fairy ring of mushrooms. Cool.
Thank you. I didn't see any other mushrooms besides this patch of about 1㎡. Must be a special place for mushrooms

Mushroom spores, like all fungal spores, are almost unbelievably tiny for something that can grow large enough to harvest. They are produced in prodigious amounts, almost mind boggling numbers. Those facts indicate that the probability of any one spore actually succeeding in growing into a mushroom are vanishingly small, conditions must be perfect. Best place? Right next to a successful mushroom, and that's what generates a fairy ring. APOLOGIES if I'm babbling facts you know perfectly well.

Another spot where we walk Tralee. The old woods road goes by a swamp. Beaver have recently built a dam right along the edge of the road, but it isn't "tight" so part of the road is now flooded, about to two to four inches deep. Fortunately we can get past along the right edge of the road without stepping where water will over top our footwear.

I had no idea but--now that you mention it--yeah, I think that's what it is. That plant has an interesting reputation.

We walked out to a crown land lake, something I'm not sure you even have in the U.S. Crown Land is land anyone can camp on without a permit. The one caveat being, if you take in a trailer , you have to move it every 21 days. 3 feet is good enough.

So we walked in to the closest to us, 4 km, (14k steps on my fitbit charge.)

My fungus images was out of focus but I have Lichen

A dead leaf

Moss

And small spring stream waterfall.

Our boats (which we leave there year around) were happy to see us.

The dogs were really happy to be back after a long winter.

The lake is candled, the ice won't last much longer.

There are fairy rings around the Pacific Northwest too. Look for them in the autumn, in grassy areas and lawns, and also where you photographed the mushrooms that Walt commented on.
