Two bridges along a place where we regularly walk Tralee. The trail is an abandoned RRRoW, mostly bordered by woods. The first image is a bridge across a stream that is a fair drop down, with what seem to be the original ties. The second goes over the stream farther along off to the right where there's a decent trail down the embankment. Trails go through the woods down there. Not sure who built this second bridge but it is probably now maintained by snowmobile clubs that use it in the winter. The main supports are telephone pole size logs, so machinery was likely used in its construction. You can see some repair work necessitated by flooding this past winter when the stream must have risen well above the bridge's decking.

And just to bring in the natural world, violets and fringed polygala (AKA gaywings) photographed the same day, both species blooming abundantly along the RoW.

A tree that long ago started returning nutrients to the soil, and a trillium from a week or more back. There were many of them this year, but they wilt quickly.

The fungi (last image) are intriguing.

Two woodland streams from a recent walk. The second one is drainage from a spring (=groundwater emerging off to the right).

From the morning dog walk through the bush.

Small sensor diffraction from the XG-1 gives you that "painting" look for landscapes.

Service Berries are in full bloom.

Even with a small sensor, 4.5mm gives you some interesting distortion.

And of course, there's always a few fungi on a walk.

A couple of shots of the same mushroom from different angles. I did have a lot of options from the elevated boardwalk. We pretty much went straight from winter to summer. It was 50F(10C) last week, today it is 93F(34C).

Great little hike today between showers. To me a 'Great Hike' = the company of my favorite mushroom hunting lady, a ton of mushrooms, a couple dragonflies, and some funky wild flowers. A snake of two would have been nice, but I'm not gonna complain. Tam 90mm on k70. I apologize if there are too many pics, I was lucky enough to have good luck today.

Sorry my mistake in using salty language in my original post. Clean language is one of the many things that helps to make PF my favorite place on the interwebs. I humbly apologize for my infraction.

A small woodland pool along a tiny trickle of drainage; a patch of ground sprinkled with gay wings (AKA fringed polygala), and a big mullein growing where it can spread its fuzzy leaves, but not yet showing its flower stalk.
