Is it a tree, or a group of large vines? Samsung S6:

Just to the east of Melbourne's tumourous sprawl is Bunyip State Park, a reserve of 166 square kilometres of bushland around granite hills. It's a wonderfully diverse place with rich flora and fauna. Unfortunately it's heavily infested with trail bikes and Hiluxes on weekends, but it's usually very quiet on weekdays. On two recent weekday trips we didn't see anyone.

The first of those trips was to see the Forest Boronia (B. muelleri) flowering. It isn't common, with a patchy distribution in Victoria and southern NSW. Much of the year it's an unremarkable looking shrub, growing to about 3 metres, but in October it produces a profusion of beautiful flowers.

K-3 and DFA 100 macro WR.

And a lovely pea flower to finish. K-3 + DFA 100.

Excellent photos, everyone.

From a recent dogwalk - a lot of my "forest" shots are taken along this walkway. Panasonic LX3:

Our forest is in February -20 snowshoe mode. We can't take the dogs out for too long, it's too hard on their feet.

One of our previous Shelties had trouble when the temp was hovering a fraction above freezing - - she would get little ice balls between between the pads of her paws. She'd stop and try to bite them out, with only modest success. I would sometimes crush them with my fingers to help. but I could not pull them because of the way they gripped on the hair between the pads. We bought her some doggie booties which did work, but she walked as if lifting each leg out of hole and up over a fallen branch on every step. We thought it comical. You might look into such booties. Huskies that pull sleds wear them regularly and seem to adapt to and ignore them in a manner that our Sheltie never did.
