An image from Spring of Mountain Laurels blooming along a path through a woods where we sometimes walk. When they are open, and there are literally thousands of bushes along one stretch of the trail, it's really good for your spirits.

Another image from late Summer/early Fall - a fern-lined stretch along one of our woodland trails. Really pleasant to walk through when it's grown up this way.

Spruce Boardwalk Trail, Algonquin park.
I didn't see the boreal chickadee, although I did find the exact spot others have seen him. I Must have been there during his break. I never see the blackjacked woodpecker often seen from the trail, one of the continuing sagas of my life. I always assume that if you go somewhere, where wildlife is known to exist, sooner or later you'll see it. With the black backed woodpecker it hasn't worked out. But Have often talked to people who saw one5-10 minutes before I arrived. That of course the elusive Spruce Grouse. I do have one picture, but again yesterday, he was spotted right before I got there, only to be no where to be seen when I went around the trail.

Oh, we;; at least it was beautiful day for images.

Yup, I esp like #3 Norm.

Our peak Fall colors were about 2 weeks ago when these were taken - most of the trees have lost their leaves by now. I was feeling retro and lazy that day, so I grabbed an old Canon Powershot that fits in my pocket
