From today's walk.

K-1 and DA*55 1.4.
This lens is so cool, better than an old style lens, portable and easy to manage unlike the DFA 50 1.4. Good for someone who wants better than legacy glass, but isn't up for the cost or inconvenience of the DA* 50 1.4 Excellent instead of best in class.

I took 8 photos of this leaf, 1ƒ.4 to ƒ8. One of the ƒ5.6s was good. Everything else had issues, on the ƒ8 the bokeh was getting busy. Yesterday I took an ƒ5.6 lans and thought , "I can do better with the ƒ1.4." Turnes out ƒ1.4 was to narrow to keep even less selected for it's flatness and appropriateness for narrow DoF. And I ended up getting the best image at ƒ5.6. The universe works in mysterious ways.

In keeping with the theme, a snow capped fungus. ƒ4 on this one. I know I paid for ƒ1.4, but you just can't make it work all that often.

Wonder how much snow we have? My dogs are standing on 18 inches of packed snow. (500mm) There's another 4 feet on top of that fallen tree. We have lots. I'm getting serious about keeping this whole image in focus. ƒ8 and be there, and all that jazz.
