Those that don't don't like it can't understand that you are an artist! Enjoy!

Here's another take on the Milky Way image I poseted this morning. That was an HDR stack while this is just the shortest exposure of the three, cleaned up a bit in Lightroom.

Now that spring is here, the nights will be warmer, I need to try a few of these shots on my own. You have really inspired me.

I'll be going back out next weekend, weather permitting and this time I'm taking the fisheye and the 15 limited.

"Emerging artist" - I like that Sounds like great fun! And a bit scary, true, but I don't really see how anything bad could come out of it. There's definitely no reason to feel embarrassed. It's not as if you don't take good pictures. Do report back and tell us whether your images were well received or if the audience were incapable of appreciating great art

Yes emerging artist does have a nice ring to it. the workshop is April2 and the Art Show runs from April 1 - 3
I will be mentioning Pentax Forum and SIC and DIC in the little Bio they have requested - every plug helps! I will probably be the only Pentax user there ....

I am thinking about passing up that early morning run for star shooting. The moon is almost full and it will be high in the sky so I'm afraid conditions just won't be right for good images. April is probably out as I'll still be recovering from knee surgery so early May might well be my next good opportunity. I hope to have the K-1 by Late June so I will most definitely be making the trek around that time frame; I just don't know what lens I'll use. The only true wide angle I have for FF is an old Sigma 28mm mini wide II. The 15 limited and the Rokinon Fisheye will only work in crop mode.

But the 28mm and the 15mm will be used at their true FOV on the FF, it's going to be noticeable change. On APS-C the 15mm is closer to the 28mmm on the FF

IIRC from my K1000 days, the 28mm was about the widest angle lens you could use without getting some distortion at the edges

The 15mm will probably still offer a UWA rectilinear look, but I'd love to try my 17mm fisheye on a FF just for fun. I'd still use the 8mm of FF mode and crop out the vignetting, it has to be pretty wild.

The 28 in full frame is equivalent to almost 19 on APS-C and since my copy was made for 35mm film I see no issue with using it. The 15mm would be the same FOV as a 10mm but unless I'm mistaken, the image circle will not cover the full fame sensor so I will have to crop; how much remains to be seen. The 8mm probably won't even come close. I currently have a few full frame compatible lenses, but only the Tamron 90mm is a modern autofocus lens. I have a couple of film era autofocus zooms so I won't be completely crippled.

I think I read somewhere that the Samyang 8mm will give you a full circular image on FF (if you remove the hood). Heavier vignetting than that is hard to get

In numbers I suppose I have more FF lenses than crop, but of the ones I use regularly it's more evenly distributed.

Those I'm fairly certain would work well are the FA28, FA31, FA43, several 50ies, and the DFA100. Would be interesting to see how the Zenitar 16 fisheye and K24 fare. The DA70 looks to perform decently, too.
