Actually I really don't want to lock myself in that far in advance, and probably nobody else does either, especially if they are new K-1 owners.

Keen for the thirties and twenties. I've been feeling the need to get my plastic fantastic back into play, and I've also been itching to play with my takette 28/2.8.

I'd agree about not locking them in, but it's a good idea, so I reckon we should keep it in our collective mind

Still in Europe - only travelling with my Panasonic LX7. When I return I might join in. I have the following ideas for my participation:

1) New to me Sigma 50-150 - hits the 135 and 50mm themes being discussed and gets me some practice with a new lens. This might be followed up with a 50-135 month in April.

2) Takumar Bayonet 135 f/2.5

Thoughts welcome.

Don't worry - I've probably bought your share, as it were. Someone had to... keeping the Pentaxian team average up, and all that.

I may need to buy another lens. My two 70-300mm Sigmas seem to have become duds at the 300mm end. I don't get why because in the years past they've been sharp at 300mm and yesterday morning I was taking photos with the original one of a Red Shouldered Hawk in my backyard and his head wasn't in sharp focus. So, a recommendation from you guys would help. I've a 2x Vivitar TC to further my reach, like the Sigma's do, but if I get a 55-300mm the 2x wouldn't auto focus even though it's auto focus TC. I tried this on the 50-200mm lens and it wouldn't autofocus with the TC attached. I found out later why. It's because the lens needs to be less than f4.

Any help?

Yes, but remember, I'm on a fixed income so it can't cost an enormous amount of monies.

Fixed income + tele lens == need for compromise and realistic expectations. :-) I have a sigma 70-200 that performs quite reasonably, I bet you could fine one for a good price, it probably won't play with a TC. I have a album with some example photos from it, it was my trusty companion until I got the 55-300, which is marginally better. It landed me the photo below.

Bobbotron, get this:

Shot with my other Sigma 70-300mm.

Yes, pepperberry farm, I realize I'm asking too much. If I could afford the new 1.4 HD AW TC, I'd go the 55-300mm but alas funds don't allow me to buy that one.

300 k or M42 at f4 are pretty cheap at times. However I don't know how they compare with what you have.

Is it possible subject blur, missed focus, or movement could have glitched the shots?

Is there a new filter attached?

Is this a new camera body that needs focus calibration with this lens?
