PP Challenge 178 - Laguna Beach LE

Thanks to Artgraf1981 for hosting the last challenge.

Welcome all to Challenge #178

I usually like to pick an image for the challenge that I haven't processed before myself, and technically haven't processed this one, but have processed similar shots from the same outing... Still thought this could be a fitting image for the challenge, so there you have it.

The challenge will be closed to additional entries in the morning between 9am and 12pm, Pacific Standard Time, on Monday, April 11th. I will attempt to complete and post the results that day. Every contestant gets an automatic PF Like from me.

K3 + DA15 | F13 | 30 Seconds | ISO 100

I will offer one possible tip to those who may not have heard about it, you might want to experiment with deconvolution sharpening... It works miracles on diffraction.

Sorry the original after modification is not that grainy, but after uploading I have problem with the displayed image. I tried the forum upload and flickr as well.
I'll try something not that aggressive.

Thank you Todd for hosting this challenge and for the great image to work with. Also thank you for the sharpening tip. I will have to research it and try it out, so I may be posting another attempt later, but here is an early contribution.

Peaceful crop

I like the part with the birds on the rocks and the peaceful sky. I cropped it and set the tint to a sunset.

In line with my general view that post processing should be about bringing out what's in an image rather than radically changing it, this is my first attempt - so I can put this away and do something a little more expressive maybe

and, if we're allowed multiple entries, this would be my crop version:

one last shot

Either one of these two, I personally would go for the b/w.
By the way, the horizon wasn't horizontal.

I saw a soft early evening shot with the Sun glowing on the sand.

One more time as a Sepia.

Changed my mind again.
