What a photo to work with!

I just used the "0 exposure." My aim was to add a little punch but keep the image passably natural (if that makes sense), as fast as possible. I would have done a black and white, but others had already done a really great job with their versions.

Tried to keep it natural looking. Merged the three exposures, adjusted highlights and shadows in LR. and did some targeted levels adjustments in PS.

Sorry for the delay everyone. Yesterday was far busier than I expected with work, last minute preparations for a two week trip and an unexpected family matter requiring my attention. I will get a selection completed tonight when I get home from work. Thank you for your patience and all the wonderful images.

I want to thank everyone who contributed. I apologize for the delay in selecting a host. It was not easy choosing as there are many images worthy of securing the honor of being the host for the next challenge. I wish I had time to comment on each, but I am simply pressed for time and most make a selection, so that the next challenge can begin.

The finalists are:

Best color photograph goes to astonm:

I really like the sharpness/clarity and colors you were able to bring out while still retaining the cloudy, overcast feeling of the image.

Best black and white honor goes to Arizona Dave:

I like your use of deep shadows to develop the mood of the image

Best in the "Something Different" category goes to Artgraf1981:

You came up with something completely different and did it well. The miniature/tilt-shift appearanace with the blurred background works well.

It wasn't easy but the host for Challenge 180 will be Artgraf1981!!!

Congratulations Artgraf1981! This is a post processing challenge and you certainly demonstrated post processing skills and succeeded in surprising and wowing me and thus secured yourself the host duties for the next challenge. Look forward to what you can come up with for us to work with in Challenge 180.

Congrats Artgraf, great edit. Nice pic Glenn. I found it hard to edit, with so much detail in the foreground.
