A barrier beach separating the pond from Lake Ontario. Every time we go there something is different - a trail disappears, tree debris has shifted, a new or a vanished section of beach.

It's a certainty this image was posted sometime in the past, but it might be worth revisiting. Just about a perfect Autumn day at Quabbin Reservoir
Gorgeous colours!

Yes, The reservoir is the main water supply for Boston and shows on almost any map of MessyChewBits as a more-or-less Y-shaped lake near the center of the state. The point of land visible in the picture is called the Prescott Peninsula after one of several towns that was destroyed to make the reservoir. It is not open to the public and is very wild. We live a few miles west of the southern tip of the reservoir. The picture was taken from the Enfield lookout, named for a town that is now under the foreground water.

Taken at a nearby field in April. Since then, it has turned to dry brush, and it's been mowed, thankfully.

It's probably not very nice if you have to 'wade' through it, but it looks pretty!
