The 16~85mm is definitely my favorite standard zoom for the K3, but the 28~105mm does very well on a K1.

Thanks, Walt. At first glance, our featureless prairies don't appear to offer much, but dig a bit deeper and you'll find some hidden beauty. Yes, we are blessed with literally miles and miles of park walkways in this area.

The 28-105 does well on the K3 too, I ready for my K1 if I get the money for it. This is one with the 28-105 on the K50 from my walk downtown today. I had the 60-250 on the K3.

A lot of the foreground was in pretty deep shadow, but PP pulled out plenty of detail

This environment is a bit more open, but a good idea to think about how long and far you want to walk.
