RECOMMENDATION: If you have not seen the landscapes of Mads Peter Iverson, check them out on line. I've been at just about every location in his two Iceland portfolios. What I could have done if I had known what to do.
And I inadvertently posted the wrong image on this thread, so I deleted it and here's a substitute, a scenic from Idaho.

What an amazing place. I spent a couple weeks on the North Island back in '92. Sadly, I was armed with only a cheap Vivitar 35mm p&s - and I don't even know where those prints are...

From November:

From November:
We were on a botanical tour - - many many plant images only a tiny fraction of which have identifications as the tour guide (an excellent one) would give the name, often both common & scientific, but who could write it all down fast enough and also properly connect 10~20 plants photographed at one location with the correct scribbled id, especially when we might visit three or more locations per day . At first I tried recording with a tiny digital device, then transcribing in the evening, but the outdoor recordings, with wind and other background noises, and sometimes not being up front, and not wishing to push the recorder into his face like a newsman interrogating a politician about the latest scandal, made the recordings pretty much unintelligible. So many NZ flowers, ferns, trees, cycads, liverworts, etc. when posted will be: "here's NZ plant, isn't it pretty/peculiar/spectacular/tiny/nice bokeh/whatever" but don't ask for its name.

I don't print that many of my photos, but this is one I did. Taken last December on some lake trails nearby:

This place is becoming one of my favorite hangouts - lots of trails & walkways, bridges, trees, and a dogpark along with the small lake:

An image from last month in a conservation area that is a really pleasant place to walk. We don't go there too often because the circuit is a shorter than the normal length we hike, and there are commonly numerous other people out strolling, which means Tralee must be kept leashed. However, following a snowfall there are few people there, and several inches of snow makes the shorter walk seem a bit longer.

Wonderful photography here Walt. When were you in Africa? Have you seen any of the photos I have posted from our trip there in 1985?

Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Tony. We were on tour in Africa in 2014, primarily Kenya and at the end a few days in Tanzania. Not sure I've seen your posts from Africa. Perhaps they aren't on a thread that I'm following? Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the number of things I need check when I log on - sometimes more than 30. If I spent only four minutes at each, that would be two hours on the PF site. And I do that.
