I had fun looking at the map to see where you were, exactly. The InterContinental hotel?
Yes. Accommodations arranged by an agent who booked all our tours, several of them to see all we wanted to see. With one exception, the hotels were far more upscale than we would have considered if we were making the bookings ourselves, but, as usual, the agent was able to get far better prices that we could have obtained directly. The place we stayed in Melbourne was especially upscale, but we weren't able to enjoy it much. The breakfast room was spectacular = high up in the building with an all-glass outer wall overlooking the city, and the buffet was outstanding, but every morning we had a street-side pickup for a tour, sometimes several blocks away from the hotel, within 30 minutes of when breakfast started. So it was mostly gulp-it-down-fast and move out as quickly as possible. Both of us were frustrated with that, as a leisurely breakfast in that room would have been a fine thing.
BTW: I have already posted, but will re-post today, a view from our room but swung to the right where you can see the Sidney Opera House which is even more interesting up close and inside than from a distance..
