Oh Flickr, you weird yet wonderful beast. My last minute 'it will do' shot from last night has been explored.

I have fallen behind a bit with comments this weekend, I shall try and catch up.
Congrats! Even though we know it Is a bit weird how they pick it Is an honor and feels great. Many people who never knew about your photographs will see them and enjoy them.

Good on you! I have had the same thing happen, my least presentable shot has made it into Explore.

The cool thing is that I usually get a follower or two, and in turn I often follow them, so many talented people out on Flickr!

Still trying to catch up.

Caught up on commenting. If I missed you sorry - I tried to remember to go back to the start of the days I missed.

Just a friendly reminder friends ....

Any supplementary pictures to our Single In picture posts should be very small, with clickable links (or even links alone) if necessary.

I think I prefer a smaller pic rather than a link alone - it lets people decide at a glance whether the gist of it is worth clicking on. As a facebook user, there's almost* nothing I loathe more than clickbait.

* = The one exception is these idiots who put up pictures of horribly mutilated or suffering children with guilt-trippy comments like "Type Amen and share if you care". If I were Mark Zuckerberg, I would delete their accounts on sight.

Ditto to both, but the reality is I almost never see the second. I have unfollowed people who post that stuff.

I finally got a Pentax Macro Focus Rail lll which is medical-equipment quality: over engineered, precise and built to last generations. However it only offers movement (focus adjustment) in front/back direction, not side to side. That means you have to perfectly align the entire tripod so that your desired plane of focus and center line are correct. Then you can approximate focus with the lens and critical focus with the rail.

Other rails can move parallel to the plane of focus (horizontal) to adjust the center point, as well as critical focus. (You adjust vertically using your tripod's center column, which is better if it is geared but mine isn't).

Velbon makes a range of lightweight 4-way Macro Rails and the price goes up from there.

Looking forward to what you get up to with that! Great looking piece of kit!

I recently acquired a piece of gear in a similar vein of photography... Sadly for single in X, not pentax related.

I own one myself. I like it but it is a little fiddly compared to what I had hoped for. Very very solid.

I just watched one sell on ebay for about $27 - what a steal.

super nice, but something I'll never own. AFA posting Macro, I have to commit to just posting what I've taken this month and catching up on June comments! It is really shocking how set in my daily habits I am and how difficult it is to change them. (I was away from home for a few days and used my Single lens daily, but I need to process and post, which is an explanation but not an excuse).

I will hint that Vivitar Series 105/2.5 is available to Single )
