Some cloudscapes from when we were on Schiermonnikoog, an island in the Waddenzee. There was rain over the mainland, but we got to see it from a fair distance.

I took these on my way home from work the other day. I've never seen a sunset with the clouds lit up with all the colours of the rainbow before, and it didn't last long. I don't know what caused it, but it looked really cool. Exposing for the backlit and colourful clouds made everything else really dark, and for some reason I had my camera set for just JPEGs.

Very nice, I think those are ice crystals high up in the atmosphere that will cause iridescence. We'll have that sometimes in the winter over here in the Netherlands when there's a northerly wind up there.

The phenomenon is called "irisation" and usually occurs along the edges of clouds with a mixture of ice and supercooled water. Most often seen in altocumulus decks such as in your photo.
