Thanks for the links guys. I have cross-posted there now. Strange how some thematic threads roll on, and some go in fits and starts. The more specialized ones may be more prone to petering out.

Very dramatic shots Noel. A tragedy for those affected. We have big summer storms too, particularly in the tropics. On average, more people die in Australia each year from lightning strikes (not to mention other deaths from storms) than from shark attacks or snake bites put together.
