Not actually cloudscapes, but I hope the thread theme can be bent a little for other sky phenomena.

Same location, four different days, four different lenses.

#1 K-30 + Sigma 400mm f5.6 tele macro

#2 K-30 + FA 43 Ltd

#3 K-3 + FA 77 Ltd

#4 K-30 + DA 18-135

The zoom holds up pretty well until you really pixel peep.

Rainbows for luck. A happy new year and best wishes to you all for 2018.

If I look carefully, I can see some clouds in each of those rainbow pictures.

No need to feel guilty and as noted there are some clouds visible. And you can also post them to the Optical sky Phenomenon thread: Optical sky phenomena: Rainbows, halos, mirages etc - PentaxForums.com
It has been inactive for over a year!

From yesterday, and it produced the mother of all storms (imho, after more than 30 years living in Johannesburg, I've seen a few), wrecked quite a bit of havoc, two persons killed when a tree fell onto their car during the storm, houses damaged and flooding in places and hail stones approaching golf ball size.

There is a thread for this, although it's been dormant for some time: Optical sky phenomena: Rainbows, halos, mirages etc - PentaxForums.com

Great images, Des, and Happy New Year to you as well

oops - Noel just beat me to it!

I guess a broad view of the theme is fitting in a cloudscapes thread!

Thanks for the links guys. I have cross-posted there now. Strange how some thematic threads roll on, and some go in fits and starts. The more specialized ones may be more prone to petering out.

Very dramatic shots Noel. A tragedy for those affected. We have big summer storms too, particularly in the tropics. On average, more people die in Australia each year from lightning strikes (not to mention other deaths from storms) than from shark attacks or snake bites put together.
