Yes, I remember the Rover-badged prototype from the time. I must admit that I hadn't made a connection with the MGF, which appeared much later, and ironically had the Rover K-series engine mounted in the same fashion.

Jaguar decided not to provide an E-type for the Roger Moore TV series The Saint, so Volvo stepped in:

One of the nicest-looking coupes from the 1960s, I think. I haven't seen one around here for a while, but they still manage to turn heads.

Yes, indeed. You've got to love those tail fins! Or not… IIRC, there was also an estate version.

Yes IR there was with a huge piece of glass in the tail gate. The styling was referenced in the recent medium sized Volvo developed on the Ford Focus chassis. C40? designation maybe.

My BMW R100/7 in 1978

My best friend (sadly now dead) had the same model bike and riding gear. The uniformity, to our surprise, had us often mistaken as police. We joked that a windscreen sign "Polite Escort Service" would really confuse them.

Don't laugh. These things command a good price these days.

Speaking of "Things"....

How long has it been since you saw one of these? In metal flake purple?

Two hours worth.

Hot August Nights is a hoot! Around 6000 classic and custom cars.
Mild

to wild

To mind-boggling

The bottom shelf of this thing is a 520 hp Watson Racing 454 Chevy engine. That will have your taters cooked before you get home....
