A shot of my '73 Kawasaki 750 H2. A classic noisy & fast two-stroke triple My brother did the paintwork.
A buddy of mine had one of these.

On a ride one day we stopped by the lake for a break, and as we were getting ready to roll he asked if I wanted to give it a go. I said sure. He cautioned me that if I dialed on the throttle, to be up over the bars first.

I did.

We had rolled onto SR526, the East end, at the junction of I5, from a signal light. Nothing but freeway all the way to The Big Shed. At about 20 or so I got up over the bars, and dialed it wide open.

An evil monster came alive beneath me. Snarling, screaming.

The front wheel came up a foot or so.

Every time I felt the engine start to nose over I shifted. The back tire barely slipped at all, just kept digging at the asphalt, propelling me forward at a phenomenal rate.

At top gear the acceleration of the bike began to peak, the explosive torque losing against the wind, and the gearing. The front wheel touched back down.

I eased back onto the saddle, keeping my chest tight to the tank.

After about a mile I eased off the throttle, and coasted until I felt comfortable sitting up.

It took another mile of coasting for my buddy to catch up on my bike. At our next stop he told me he had never gotten on it quite as hard as I did, that it scared the daylights out of him to run it that hard.

Yeah I did the clip ons, The original bars would have suited a trail bike they were so high and wide. No fairing though. Original exhaust system was very heavy 3 headers into 4 big pipes, so a 3 into 1 system would have been a huge weight saver. And a bigger tyre on the back.

@ Racer:That is the way my friend rode his 750, nose over the headlamp - he was a tall young man and could get his chin over as well.

All it really needs is some rubbing compound and elbow grease.

That would be the first thing I'd do. It doesn't look like it needs much else, unless it has mechanical problems.

1972 Datsun 240Z, 77,000 original miles, original engine, transmission, interior and paint. I recently pulled it from 22 years of storage, charged the battery overnight, and it fired right up.

Here is an iPhone shot after a lot of work with rubbing compound and a buffing wheel, then a coat of wax.
