hmmm....

No I wasn't suggesting you use the 20-40 - I was saying that I didn't have a 28 except for a Canon mount which won't do at all... LOL. My choices in the 20-29mm range are:

DA 20-40
DA 18-135
DA 12-24 (currently on loan for several more weeks)
FA 31 (close... but not quite)

I'm still not sure - perhaps I'll buck the trend and go to the 50-135 that I just got back from Dad.

My FA43 has had almost no use on the K-1. That needs to change.

I'm contemplating... I have Grandpa's old Sears 28mm 2.8 m42 that I've had for ten years but have never bothered to fix to a camera... I looked at it yesterday and it's in perfectly clean shape and has a June 1950 date on it... Or A 28 or Toyo 28 that were both Singled last year but could be new fun on K1...
Clearly Grampas lens!

I indicated earlier that I would use my K30/2.8 for August. My rationale was that I hadn't Singled it before and I had heard it rumoured that my K30 was actually a 29mm, and would therefore have complied with this month's guidelines . Since I don't entirely trust the source of that rumour I checked my lens list and discovered that I have a Super-Takumar 28mm f3.5 which hasn't been Singled so that's my revised choice. It'll be nice to go manual again .

I missed the discussion about 28mm lenses for August, but since I no longer own my F28/2.8 I'll stick to the original plan. The FA43 will be refreshingly light after a month with the DFA15-30.

The other option would be the FA*24, which also has seen little use on my K-1 so far. Thoughts?

20s, rather than specifically 28, so the 24 fits the bill should you so desire.

OTOH, the 43 on the k1 will have the same fov as the 28s abounding on our itty-bitty APS-Cs. so that works too, in a way

I generally save 28mm for the fall, plus I think I've already singled all my 28s. Instead, since I generally do 135mm at some point in the summer, I'll probably do one of those.

I've got two I haven't singled yet: a Jupiter-37A (slightly fungus-y, but not too bad) and a Super-Tak 135/2.5. I'm tempted to go with the Jupiter, simply because I've used it so little.

(Also: hi, it's me again. Been a while.)

You've been flickering ;-) but it'll be good to have you back in Singles.

Slightly fungus-y? Here I was thinking there were only two extremes - clear of fungus, or eternally damned and BURN IT WITH FIRE.

yeah - that was easy

did a quick run with the Tamron 02B last night - evaluating it while shooting in the garden in the fading light.... nice lens, but it did not spark joy like the 21LTD does... so I'll be shooting with the DA21 Limited for August....

the Ozark Empire Fair opens today - we'll be there tomorrow; I'm hoping for little to no rain and lots of fair shots.....
