I spent the better part of my Labor Day Weekend working on this one (half of the time driving back an forth from town for stuff). It runs fine, but it needed quite a bit of TLC. I liked the contrast of the shiny new alternator on the greasy old engine.

I wonder if any of the Aussie Cockies would have a photo from the time of a famous Australian tractor called
"Tail End Charlie" . It was (perhaps the only, and amid controversy, tractor) entered in a car rally around Australia.
It completed the rally (with a special gearbox ratio), in one section towing behind it a string of broken competitors.
After that,it did a sales trip around the wheat areas.
I remember having a short ride on it as my father was a Chamberlain agent.

Here's another "tractor" - both pics are from southern Saskatchewan.

It could have been a tractor if they had put the right top on it

Simple web search found this: Tail End Charlie The Tractor

It is indeed a Chamberlain. And it is still alive in a tractor museum but a replica is still kicking.

Here's a tractor photo I took last summer doing a shoot with Cinch Jeans. They posted it today for National Farmer's Day.

These machines are a mechanical marvel IMO. A bit of trivia, apparently the first combine was introduced in 1836 (horse drawn).
