Post-Processing Challenge #191

Welcome to Post-Processing Challenge #191!

I've selected a photo I took from several years back. It's bad in several ways, but this is supposed to be a challenge, right?

Of interest to probably no one but me, I spent a half hour or so photographing around this property, which would be featured heavily in the Cinemax series Banshee some time later. You can see the back of this particular building on the right, in photo number two at the following link:

The Charlotte Observer

Since we have a holiday weekend coming up, and since I realize this may not be the most inspiring photo in the world to work with, I'll judge up to two entries per entrant. Feel free to submit as many as you like though.

The deadline for entries is 9:00 PM EDT Tuesday, September 6th.

I look forward to seeing what you all come up with. Good luck!

So many colors and shades and hues and textures and contrasts. I really love this image.
I found what I think are cut nails quite interesting in the second image.

Thanks everyone for entering. There weren't many entries--in fact I've never seen one of these challenges bumped all the way over to page 2 of the Mini-Challenges, Games, and Photo Stories Forum (and a ways down page 2 at that)--but I'm actually sort of glad because it's made my job of selecting a winner easier.

I say easier but it really wasn't easy, as all the work was great.

Like Rimfiredude, who did an excellent job with both his entries, the photo really grew on me once I uploaded it. The original file looked like it was shot on a vintage flip-phone, but the work you all did has got me thinking it's time for a return visit. And I thank you for that.

Since there weren't many entries and you all know what you did, I'll get straight to my final two...

Todd, I had a feeling we would be seeing something creative from you and you didn't disappoint. You did a nice job tweaking the saturation and contrast, bringing out the contrast and texture of the building as well.

Kevingun, you really blew me away with the work you did. Not only was it VERY creative, but it was also really, really well done. Way to grab the bull by its horns!

It was very close between the two entires, but Todd's Twilight Zone entry is my pick this week, for no other reason than it's just cool to stare at.

Congrats Todd, and thanks everyone for your hard work!

Thanks for hosting and judging, JHfwp. That was a fun image to work with! Enjoyed all the entries.

Here's your next round. Fun is over! jk
