Thanks very much. Yes, that lens is a cracker. When you zoom in, you can see details like fence posts and sharply defined silhouettes of the cows on the far hillside, which were at least 3 kms (say 2 miles) away.

Another thread I've managed to miss... Lots of great shots in here! I have never understood the notion that landscapes call for wideangle lenses. Well, sometimes they do, but long lenses will often be the better choice.

Here's one from Zimbabwe, looking over the Zambezi towards the escarpment on the Zambian side.

Thank you! Mana Pools is a wonderful place for walking. You are even allowed to walk there on your own, but I wouldn't feel safe without a guide. With luck I might be able to return there one day.

I used to live in Grand Haven many years ago. They took the catwalk down to make repairs to the breakwater. The repairs are still no complete yet. Unfortunately the city still has not raised enough funds to put the catwalk back up.
