Okay but here we have a small one called a "Snowy Egret" and it has a black beak and yellow feet. I don't have a good one with wing span but here is a photo of one from Cornell labs:

Like I said, it's not very good IMO but here is the only Snowy Egret I have in flight.

These were taken at the Grand River near Kitchener or Cambridge Ontario. The geese were taken with a K200D and the DA 50-200mm @ f/8, the eagle and the red-tailed hawk were taken with a K-50 and a Vixen ED80sf telescope with a 0.8X reducer.

face off

another view from the balcony of the room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Walt Disney World Florida

the better focused bird is a Grey Crowned Crane and the one more out of focus is the Malibu Stork

(darned live subjects that won't freeze in place)

You might need to up your shutter speed, maybe by upping your ISO to 400. It looks to me that you have some camera shake rather than an out of focus image. (Or rest it on the balcony somehow). You seem to be in the right place for some great shots!

good points all and thanks for the advice

I no longer use the *st dl, it is on loan to a kid at church, I'm trying to arrange a trade for it, the kid (10) gets the camera and I get some elk from his grandfather.

I got a K 5 II last October and a K 3 in August.

***** If anyone is going to WDW and likes wild life photography check out the Animal Kingdom Lodge and get a room overlooking a savanna *****

All of my recent shots (8 years) are from Florida. Along the east coast and around local river parks.

My mistake, looking at the exif data I misread it as you using the 1st dl this morning. I really should read up on exif data. Hope you are enjoying some of your manual focus lenses results on the K-5 and K-3.

well, I was out at the Topeka Zoological Garden, Topeka KS hoping to get some photos of a wood duck or trumpeter swan displaying its wing span

unfortunately, although I got some good photos of them, none cooperated like I wanted

this is the best I could do today

I will leave it up to the vote of the posters whether it qualifies with the theme of this thread or not
