The pollination continues here in New Orleans. This first one kept hiding but the second one was too big to hide. (bee for scale) :0

When I was using a 6mb camera crop was an enemy. With 20mb it's not. With macro bugs it's sometimes impossible to get close enough and even then backing off is the only way to get enough dof.
When the next apsc has 36mp I think fear of cropping may still carry on.

Thank you. Those wasps are a mortar and a potter wasp. Things lined up after the whole summer. Milkweed bloomed and it was below 80f. They are simply too fast in the heat to even look at them. The swallowtail landed right in front of me. I think I had become part of the scenery from standing still watching the wasps.

Congrats to those in-flight pictures, I especially like the 2nd one, with lots of pollen everywhere, and very nice detail without distracting reflections.

Thinking this is a Gyne and Males...
Queens don't forage once they lay their first batch of workers, and those definitely look like males.

Bombus griseocollis if I'm not mistaken.
