Haven't posted much here lately, but I do still enjoy the varied pictures.

As usual, mine isn't as varied with respect to the pollinator species. It's just the plant, that's special to me. This year, after several years with severe lack of rain (less 50% in the previous two springs) and way above average evaporation due to high temps, we had a much better spring, allowing our old roses to blossom for weeks, in contrast to just a few days in the previous years. The roses were already here when we moved in, and have likely been there since the 1930s. I don't know the exact variety, but they climb about 10m high into our trees and have huge number of beautiful white open flowers (with a hint of pink), providing easy access to pollinators - and the photographer.

One of the fist shots with my IRIX 150mm macro.

Thank you @aslyfox for the link to the thread.

I'm new to DSLR so nothing as special as yours to share using DSLR. However my phone camera is pretty good, and where I've been hiding for a few years. Currently a Huawei P30 using Snapseed editing app
Here are a picture I got this summer in my garden.

I look forward to finding some more pollinators when we come out of winter (in the UK), with my DSLR.

From the same session as the above, a Hyleaus bee, about 6mm long.

The German name for the genus (a fairly rich one) translates to "mask bee" - referring to the yellow marks on their face. At least the species here all have them, some have a mostly yellow face.

Their bare legs, which first made me wonder what I was looking at, are due to the specialty that Hyleaus bees don't transport pollen externally on their legs, but in a crop. Due to motion blur (shot with available light at 1:1 and 1/400s), it's not very detailed, but you can see how the pollen is brushed off the front leg.

A couple more phone pictures this summer. The poppy one has the shadow so the pollinator was flying off.
I've no idea on types etc so look forward to learning more here.

I recently found this shot on an old SD card - not sure why I had not posted it in 2016!

Love the combination of the 55-300PLM with an achromat for 'casual' macros, here at full 300mm. A tiny bee (hylaeus?) on Leucanthemum, just lit by the sky.
