thanks!!! a friend did the spinning on the 2 (one for each camera) before i started the time lapse but i did most of them during the time lapse.....note to self next time do the star time lapse closed down some to handle the brightness and detail of the wool..........it was a good experiment to try!!!
Thanks, the experimentation is half the fun, isn't it? I had something similar when I went light painting with a friend and everything went gloriously wrong, but we learned a lot (and got some nice results at the end of the day).

yes indeed!! if there are no mistakes to learn from you did not notice what went wrong and can't adjust and learn!!! and always goes better with a friend trying the same thing

Here's an upward view I took a few days ago. The day started out with a completely blue sky and then high clouds started moving in...

Nice, I always find it challenging to deal with the backlit conditions in such images; how do you cope with this?

Thanks!

I'd been taking shots of the bird while it was perched, but it was not backlit. When it took off, I had no time to make any changes, but shot using the settings already set. My KP was on TAV, f8, 1/1000, with back button focus, drive setting continuous Hi.. Camera selected ISO 400. Sometimes I have a bit of exposure compensation dialed in, usually -1 EV, after checking a shot or two. No compensation on this shot, though. Sometimes I get lucky!

Thanks for letting me in on the recipe! This will be a bit more challenging for me since my only longer lenses (>135mm) are manual, but I'll give it a try.

This is my best to this moment:

Nice and minimalistic. I've always wanted to see a rocket launch in real life, must be impressive.

I have yet to see one closeup. They don't have a great track record for on-time launches; mostly due to marginal weather. I am about 40 miles away, as the crow flies, and just over 60 miles driving distance. Hopefully I will connect someday.
