Ok I give you a little help: is a small part of a biggest thing that is not so long used nowadays. It was mostly used in countrysides

It's the end of an object but not of a spoon. I can give you another little help telling that is possible to found this object in a wide variety of dimension: from few cm to more than 1 meter (the full object in the picture is actually taller than 1,5 meter and is one of the biggest I've ever seen).

Depending on the country - is it found only in Italy, was it used in North America?

Hm. I'm betting it's some kind of agricultural implement, but darned if I can think of one (or part of one) that could be anywhere from cm to 1.5 m long!
