Thank you all for your kind words. He was a quiet guy, so its been comforting to see and meet people who have had nice experiences with him to share.

Not a great morning so far.

Damn camera came off my Black Rapid sling strap thus morning; bounced on the road. O_O No external damage, ...

Much angers.
Ouch, that hurts and is definitely frustrating. Your lorikeet came out well today, so hopefully that will continue.

Since the lens that was on my camera was the FA-77, that will be the SIC lens for February. Not that this is a hardship at all, it's an incredible lens. Since it's a Focal length, especially on APS-C, that I don't often use, maybe that will break me out of my shooting habits and the February doldrums at the same time.

Has anyone seen a 2016 film "The innocents"? I mention it because beyond the story and acting, the "natural" winter lighting and subdued colors of the film in each shot are just incredible. I'd like to figure out how to pull this look off inexpensively at home.

Hey Bill, sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. 88 seems a pretty good run, I hope you celebrate his long life with some happy memories.

Robert - Re: Innocents cinematic treatment. I'd say that the footage shared in the trailer is somewhat under exposed. The lighting is big and soft - and the colour grading is almost desaturated (except for blue and a bit of red lipstick on one scene I saw).

I just popped in to share that I have parted with My Q, and have since posted the Adapter Q for K mount lenses on my local web classified. If any of you are interested send me a PM and I'll post it here per forum rules - always happy to help out a friend if you know what I mean.

That being said, I opted not to join February due to some "business travel" to Punta Cana to celebrate a successful 2016 First time in 15 yrs I've got a trip like that out of the company.

Thanks for the input, you are probably right. I've watched the film three times, I find all of it captivating, and well made.

Ew, sorry to hear. I've had my share of back problems - hard to contemplate photography when dealing with that pain. Hope it clears up for you soon.

It is shocking how heavy a k-3 and a 16-50 feels when the back is in a bad way. M43 is my fallback.
