If you tell anyone you are going to Tasmania, you will get a list of dozens of places to go and things to see.
It looks like just our kind of place, but as my wife commented "it's a devil of a place to get to from here" (I know, sorry about that).
In a few weeks we will be visiting the clints and grikes on the limestone pavement in the Yorkshire Dales in UK.

thanks Ray.

I honeymooned up your way at Terrigal (1969). I called in for a couple of nights a couple of years ago en route home from Qld.
In 69 we drove up to The Entrance; I don't remember Forresters Beach.
We spent more time to the south, Woy Woy, Pearl Beach, etc; judging by Google Earth it has all grown somewhat!!

Hi Rod, going north from Terrigal there is Wamberal Beach (it is attached to Terrigal at the lagoon entrance) then Spoon Bay at the far north end - all part of the same beach. Around the headland is Forresters Beach, then Bateau Bay, Shelly Beach, Toowoon Bay, Blue Bay and then The Entrance Beach.

The problem for non-locals is that apart from Terrigal and The Entrance none of the other beaches are visible from the main road so you have to know that they are there. Forresters Beach is not known as a good swimming beach and it is not patrolled. But it is popular with the local board riders.

I don't have any recent images of my home beach so I must remedy that and show y'all what it is like. Stay tuned.

That first image is an exceptionally good one of Wamberal Lagoon. I have not seen it so full for a long time. And, of course, I know the other two locations very well. Nice work.

Thanks Ray,
We stayed at the motel that faces the lagoon, so I had plenty of opportunity to get one good shot!

As promised, here are a few images of my home beach - Forresters Beach. There was a good surf running today under a cloudless sky and there were quite a few board riders out on the waves. The water temp was just right.

Looking towards the south end.

At the south end. A good location for a dawn shoot.

From the south looking towards the north.

Almost at the north end. The houses you can see in the upper left sell for seven figure sums. There's no charge for the salt spray! The tower on the hill top is a TV signal repeater and I live about 3 minutes drive directly west from there.

At the north end.

A log that washed up ages ago.

Somebody got creative on that log.

Near the north end. In the distance you can see Terrigal and The Skillion.

The steps leading down to the beach.

That's nice Ray; tempting, but not this year - Broulee in April (from the beach right near the unit I have rented, sunrise will be directly over the island - looking forward to a few early mornings!)

Thought I would post a counterpoint to all the bright, sunny beach pictures.

Some Canadian seals cavorting in the surf.
