Pre- mozzie In a bucket

A mosquito larvae in a yellow bucket. Apologies for the color folks, mom-mozzie chose it. Hoping to get better images soon. I have put a few water containers around the place hoping they will deposit their eggs in them.

Some hatched eggs from a Hyalophora cecropia (giant silk moth). The odd one out hatched the following day. I've been rearing these moths for a couple years now, they're great fun.

Nice! We're having a great year for mosquitoes, I'm sure I could ship you several billion if you're in need of more subjects.

Very, very kind of you to offer, but I will have to pass on that one.

I'm sorry to see so many of the wonderful images that were in this thread have disappeared due to the Photobucket issue.

A little Luna Moth caterpillar. I've seen the adult stage a couple times from far, far away, so I was pretty excited when a friend offered me some eggs. They're getting to the piggly stage when they eat and poop at a phenomenal rate. Hooray for exponential growth...

Hooray indeed Brian !! Thank you for dusting off this thread and posting another excellent image buddy. It's winter here, and the little " pre " critters are hard to come by, but sooooon I hope to capture a few.

PS. Very glad that you are not with Photobucket. Too many wonderful images gone methinks.

I agree so went back - re-uploaded the images to a new linking service and repaired the links for my orphaned images back to page 1.

And here are a couple more for interest:

Terrific Arjay. Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to restore your lovely images, and posting some new ones.
Much appreciated on both counts mate.

More milkweed munchers. Glad to see these earlier this week as they have been very scarce for a long time.

I don't think the leaf has much of a future.
