After a heavy downpour, I had a feeling that I'd get some good examples of of how Bad Weather Makes Good Pictures, I am glad I followed that impulse.

As a resident of Newfoundland, NEITHER of those looks like anything I'd classify even remotely as "Bad Weather"! ESPECIALLY #2.

You clearly have very different standards!!!

Well, Virginia is relatively mild, especially compared to Newfoundland, but the folks in the valley below wouldn't venture out in foggy rainy conditions, only we Pentaxians on the peaks know the beautiful truth, and we bring it back to the lowlanders.
I'm not inspired by cloudless blue skies and "picture perfect" weather.
I'd love to get up to your part of the world.

BTW, my albums while not great are public. Goodly number of local pics there.

It IS incredibly beautiful here...but, er, uh, "challenging".

Re. spectacular pics in Newfoundland, a local pro (nonPentax...likes Canons and Leicas) photog I know took this super-spectacular pic in the Torngat Mtns in Labrador, Newfoundland.

I love the picture of the stormy seas. I once lived very near to the ocean, on Cape Cod, I miss the sound of the waves.

If you're talking about the ones of Cape Spear, the winds were over 100kph (62 mph) and the temps around -10C (14F) at the time I took the pics if I remember correctly. Now THAT's "bad weather"!!!

No argument there! You did well even to get them in those conditions.

Something a bit milder. Evening storm approaching. South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia KP + DA 18-135.
