That's not a bang, this is a bang.

Actually, multi images added together so must admit to some cheating there.

Ta for the comment, appreciate that.

On the edge of a passing storm front, the HD D-FA 15-30 is a handy lens to have on the K-1.

Nice composite, I assume you were on the roof of a car park and exposed to the elements like a true Pentaxian!

Whilst I do love foggy conditions for photography it doesn't make for the best views when you reach a summit.

G'day,

Thanks for the kind words and invite, I saw the thread listed in your sig block and thought, kewl, I like the look of that.

Here's another one from the balcony of the unit I used to live in when I was in Newcastle, NSW.

The westerly aspect sucked in summer but it made up for it when the storms came rolling in.

I'm back in Brisbane now and we tend to get regular storms. Indeed another one is due today. Hopefully nothing like this one from late October: South-east Queensland hit by very dangerous thunderstorms as hail up to 14cm pummels the region - ABC News FYI, the two videos were from a suburb about 15km (9mi) from my place.

Yes, but imagine the great pictures that one could make in those conditions! Seriously, though, hail that size is a danger.

Great view. I have lived in or visited many places on 4 continents (sadly not Australia, yet!) I do enjoy watching a storm like your above with a view that allows me to take it all in.

Blast from the past

An imaged captured in 2012, K5 and the DA SDM 50-135. These are coal vessels off Mackay in central Queensland waiting to take on their loads under a heavy sky and rain squalls not long after sunrise.

Hi Pentaxians,

I just noticed this thread (I frequent the Cloudscapes group more often), and I thought this would make some sense over here (no tropical storm, though).

I guess it is bad weather although I love the stuff. First snow of the year yesterday so I had to get out and enjoy it.

So do I, but we've not had any yet. Thanks for sharing! The boats on the canal are my favorite.

Differing weather will be interesting to watch in this thread

It's been a while since any storms have come through and I've not captured anything from them, but maybe in the next few weeks that'll change. This image was taken on Mt Cootha just west of Brisbane. It's not a tall mountain but it gives a good view of the city though storms tend to run over the mountain getting to the city so this view captures the approach of a storm but I'm facing away from the city.

Here's the same storm from a different perspective.

But maybe tomorrow will provide me something?
Brisbane Forecast

Oh, and I posted this today as it got me off 2020 posts. Does that mean I've started next year already?

I was down in the valley when I saw the clouds moving in, rushed into the hills and made it to an overlook just before the sun set
