What an exceptionally beautiful image Tom. I had to look at it a few times to appreciate it properly.
Thanks Des, A breathtaking view in person. I would have liked to shot it with the KP to get a little more resolution, but the KP had the 15 mounted when the rain started, wasn't about to change lenses in the rain.

It was a big view to this little guy the Lizard on the Lily Blade in Misty Weather. Added some topaz texture.

This will come in handy if it ever gets wet enough to deliver hay to the cows by boat.

Woke up to the presently strongest storm on the planet here in Newfoundland. Couldn't find my 16-85 WR so stuck my 17-50 Sigma on. It doesn't do well at cold temps and today was no exception. Lens had a lot of trouble with focus and handling manual focus in 122kph/76mph winds at Cape Spear where these were taken wasn't working well either. Temps were 0C/32F. Setting up any settings was hard and it shows. Hell, even walking was extremely difficult and had to essentially duck walk to keep from being bowled over.

But the gale was blowing swatches of spray right off the surface and these were catching the sunlight and making blowing rainbows skitter and swirl across the surface. Can't bring them out as well as I'd like, but here are the best of a lot of not so great pics. Will be better prepared next time.

This 1st one is from a protected area with the gale out at the point and so was able to set the pic up a bit better.

Rest are out in the full gale...

Fabulous shots. You've captured the essence of "bad weather" quite well!

Not that snow is bad at a ski area but it's not very good for photography if I want the mountain in the background!

The falling snow maybe hiding the mountain but the effect of the light from the fireworks and the moving cars more than makes up for it

Thanks. I think it would have been perfect if snowing just a little lighter so there was some hint of mountain back there. The way the snowy mountain reflects the fireworks light is pretty neat when it comes together. Here is one I shot a few years ago when it wasn't snowing. Somewhere halfway between these two would be pretty nice. I'll try again next year.

Clouds are always good subjects, sadly I have only leaden and featureless skies tonight. Thinking of winters past. [IMG][/IMG] This picture would not be so interesting without the snow [IMG][/IMG] A different rainy night [IMG][/IMG]
