I got ^^ that ^^ wet taking a few moments to snap a half dozen frames to get this...

Where upon I packed up and started to head back into town, watching the weather change all the while. which eventually led to this glorious sunset.

That's a great sunset, and a very nice photo of these train tracks in the mist and rain. Excellent images.

Easy for me to say, but it was well worth the wait--that's a wonderful photograph!

But weren't you worried about getting your camera wet?

Next time I'll have more concern for the front element. Apparently it was raining hard enough it splashed off the lower lip of the hood making for some artifacts when pointing into the sun 10 minutes later.

I missed that sunset, i was just headed out the door when the deluge started so i went back to something i had been working on and completely missed the rapid change to the sunset

I had to stop, even though I'd be late if I did.

It was miserable, cold and poured rain at the Raptor conservancy - any good photos were a real struggle. High ISO's for every shot as high shutter speeds demanded....

Outstanding shot! Patience and preparation paid off for you.
IMO, the rain adds a little something to the final result. Good thing Pentax camera allow one to go for the high ISO options without fear.
