Bad Weather Makes Good Pictures

We Pentaxians are a hardy breed, seeking out the worst weather conditions that would keep many other photographers indoors in order to capture pictures beyond the days of picture-perfect weather.
Not for us the blue skies and calm days.
Here we post our pictures of Storms of all sorts as they happen, preferrably from the middle of the action. Wind storms, snow storms, sand storms, fog, hail, you name it, and our weather sealed caeras and lenses alllow us to go out and claim a few good shots that other, lesser photographers will swoon over from the comforts of their warm abodes
Credit the phrase to Sam Abell, a professional whose advice and critiques have made me a much more conscientious photographer.
To start off, a winter scene

And a rainy spring day

Fog

Worst conditions I've ever photographed. Well below 0C, 100kph+ gale, horizontal snow and salt spray...

Great idea for a thread Rob, I've been in places crowded with photographers, rain starts, and all the others run for cover.

I'm going to try to let this thread inspire me to shoot a lot of pictures over these next few (predicted) very rainy days. Some, maybe most of the shots will be on film, so delayed postings from them, but I'll work in some dslr shots. My K10D is WR, but none of my lenses are.... Okay, I've put myself on record with the community. I have to follow through now.

Best of luck! I generally keep my camera in the bag until I'm ready to shoot, and try to shield for m the worst of the downpour. Sometiwm I shoot from a doorway, under an awning, or umbrella, or an open car window.

I love it when the fog creeps in over the hills, and I'm in a good spot to capture it.

We rarely have fog, and hills are scarce around here - nice shot

One from last summer. I do admit, I stayed close to the house to shield the rain from the M 50 1.7. Lots of guessing when I thought the next bolt of lightning would show up, but I got one.
