You definitely have animals I will never see in my back yard unless they escape from the zoo!

Nice photos BTW.

I found this microbat roosting between some shadecloth panels. It's a Lesser Long-eared Bat (Nyctophilus geoffroyi). A couple of quick shots and I put the panel back and left it in peace. K-S2 + DFA 100 macro WR.

On a very rainy day! I wish I lived somewhere that I could have such visitors! Cool shots.

Thanks Rob. It's great having koalas visit, but I do envy you the platypus and bettongs. When I lived in Canberra many years ago I used to love going to Tidbinbilla. I hope it's recovering from the terrible fires.

I wonder whether the animal in your third shot is a Southern Brown Bandicoot? Long nose, coarser fur with a yellowish tinge, lower to the ground than a potoroo.

All terrific shots. Thanks for sharing.

Tidbinbilla has recovered to a degree, but it will take decades for the forest to come back to what it was. I did correct the name of the Bandicoot - thought I fixed it on Flickr but I realise it's wrong at the moment.

I have a trip coming up in January that will include seals and sea lions, and I've been wondering how to make them look interesting - great job!
