agreed - and if I had not just finished a month with the SMC A50/1.7, I would strongly consider it.....

I committed this morning to the Tamron 44A, so off we go!

I'm going with the 18-55mm Kit lens for June, and probably coupled with the screw on magnifying glass, as I have been hankering for some macro shots.

Well, the decision is made; and though some of you will probably think me a coward, in the end I went with the DA40/2.8 Limited (SMC variant). I decided that after last month's travails, I needed to shoot with the sort of lens I might naturally throw on my camera anyway, as opposed to needing special planning around how I was going to use it and how many peripherals (flash, tripod etc) I was going to need.

Yes, yes, I know; I led you all on with talk of the Bushnell... and that may come in a month or two (the Lomo Daguerre gets next call if July is a fine month). But right now I want (and need) a lens for which singling means ease of use, not screaming frustration and wondering what the heck I'm going to shoot next to see the month out.

Great lens for almost any occasion.

So, I have both work demands, and a visiting family. I won't say I'm dropping out, but posting will be sporadic. I will be monitoring the threads and Flickr group, I look forward to seeing what you all provide this month

And indeed it spent a lot of time stuck to the front of my *istDL and then my K-5.

If I like the look of it on the K-1, I might consider putting the FA43/1.9 on my next-to-get list (I almost traded the DA40 and my M 40 towards one a couple of years back). The 40 should be a reasonably good indicator of the FOV and composition requirements of the 43, bearing in mind I will lose a little on all edges with the slightly longer FA. But how often do we park a critical part of our subject on the very edge of the frame anyway?

Congrats on Explore. One of my BW shots of fire also hit, so yay for shooting and posting daily.

Yesterday I went to a part of my state I'd never visited, met some nice folks, and took many pix, using the 40 XS, the 21mm, and the 55-300. They tipped me off to some other locations as well as a night time rocketry even next month. I'm itching to return and try some long exposure shots there.

Today I'll be working in the AM, but the afternoon offers a polo match (local horse owners who need an excuse to get together and exercise the horses while the rest of us watch and drink wine from a local vineyard, think jeans and T-shirts, not jodhpurs) and a potential thunderstorm this evening. Should provide some good shots as soon as I get time to post.
