I'm a little late to the party, but will do my part to fill out the ranks. Will be shooting with the A series 24mm f:2.8. Mostly on the K-1 for ultra-wides but also on the Olympus E-M5ii to try it out as a normal lens (48mm equivalent).

I'll be watching how that lens delivers. It's on my short list of lenses to acquire.

I have the K 28/f:3.5 and it's great. I had a false start trying to single with it several months ago. I need to give it another go at some point.

Tomorrow I go back to shift. If I don't get one posted, I'll back up and post when I can. There may be some shots from my patrol car this month.

Well, today I picked up what looks like a real bargain: a Pentax 645 medium-format film camera with grip and two film backs (120 and 220), three lenses, and a Quantum Battery pack that may or may not work, for $175 USD.

From what I can tell, the lenses are in excellent condition, and the camera body powers up and appears to be fully functional (shutter and mode selections work). Body is used, but in pretty good shape. The interior of the camera is excellent.

Today's single in shot is a quick picture of the body and lenses.

I went to a mountain overlooking a fireworks display with the 18-135mm, this month's SIC lens. I had used it for a simlar display on 1 July, so I thought I'd chosen wisely. Well, it did not turn out so well, and I'm not sure what I did wrong, but the shot I posted was strictly pro forma, and I can't blame my equipment. I think this is a great lens, and I will catch up on shots, and comments, today I hope.

Congrats! And mysterious ways indeed. I think, judging by the number of faves, my photo of the pup from the 2nd was also explored. I didn't think it was that great of a shot. This often happens when I return to Flickr after a prolonged absence. It's almost like the algorithm is saying "Welcome back, please don't leave again!"

I don't know if the rest of you noticed but my photos for the month all have the wrong date on them. They were taken the days I uploaded them but each one on flickr says the day before. I just noticed it this morning and have corrected the date in camera. I have no idea when the date got reset to an earlier date. But it's correct now.

Debt of gratitude to Sandy Hancock. I was getting frustrated with the Q10 rendering bright white subjects as a blur (you can see the example the other day with the white flowers) Sandy mentioned the Q didn't handle high ISO well in regards to DR, so I started hunting. I soon realized something was wrong when my Q10 would meter a scene at f5, 1/60 sec and ISO 1200, but my K5 would meter the same scene at ISO 200. I finally discovered the Q10 had been shipped with the ND filter turned on...

SMDH...

I figured out how to use the event calendar to add theme days.

Assuming I did it right, you should now see the theme days at the bottom of your main forum listing, and upcoming theme days (at the top) when you click into the "Monthly Photo Challenges" social group. If I need to add anything further, and someone else has experience/expertise with this that I don't, please feel free to suggest changes.

Oh, and tomorrow is "BACKLIT" day. Just saying.

Well, my nearly brand new laptop won't boot. Two months of RAW files that I'll most likely lose when they do the repair. Note to self: always, always back up.

Ouch!
Yes, always back up. At least you should have jpegs of the better shots saved in Flickr. That is one reason I have paid a bit to have unlimited storage there.
