I had trouble taking my eyes off the sky and releasing the shutter! But I did get 42 in a couple of manual settings, all in +/- 2 EV brackets of 5 shots each. The last two are shaky as I bumped the tripod trying to get the lens cap back on! I include them just because I was so amazed that so much detail remained as the sun's surface reappeared in the "diamond ring" effect. The 150-450 is a really nice lens...

Shot with a K3 II and the 150-450 at 450mm. This was in Easley, SC, at the Taco Bell! No processing at all other than cropping. I plan to combine the brackets at some point, but I was pretty happy with the individuals...

Here's an overall shot of the totality. This was taken with my little OMD EM10 and Samyang 7.5mm Fisheye lens (a VERY wide lens).

You can see the 360 degree sunset that surrounded the eclipse.

Drove from Oklahoma to the Arrow Rock Historic Site along the Missouri River east of Marshall, MO, in order to be centered right under the umbra when it passed overhead. Instead, heavy clouds moved in, and 45 minutes before totality I decided to hightail it south to Sedalia where I found mostly blue sky. Had about 5 minutes to set up before going total, but managed to capture these shots. Used a Pentax-A 1:4 70-210mm lens that was fully manual. Did not need a filter during totality. I think the exif should have the rest of the info... Certainly an incredible experience. Looking forward to 2024...

Here's my offering from near Otto, NC. K-3 with 55-300mm PLM, using a Baader film filter for the partial phases. The clouds tried to get in the way but I think it made the first image more dramatic. Looks like everyone else had an awesome time viewing and photographing the eclipse.

From Jackson, WY

Shot with a K3ii and DA*300mm set to AV at f7.1 and ISO 200. Bracketed 5 exposures with maximum spread. The darkest exposure was not dark enough to capture the prominences. Blended 3 exposures for this image, 1.3, 1/13 and 1/50 seconds.

I didn't have a solar filter for the camera (just glasses), and I found it very hard to get the sun in the frame before totality. The first group of shots was just outside the frame. Fortunately, I looked through the lens at totality, and was able to get subsequent shots properly framed.

Was only able to get a partial eclipse and it was cloudy, but I think the clouds add for a nice effect. Shot on my K-S2 with a Pentax-DA 55-300.

My favorite so far.

Great enough even to justify being in traffic for 8 hours from Glendo to Denver, I hope!

I just got home from Wyoming. Here is a quick edit of one of my first shots:

Shot in Casper WY using a K-3, DA* 60-250 x 1.4. I believe that the little dot at lower left is Mercury.

That detail -- and your identification of it -- makes this lovely eclipse image a standout.
