Just another photo. I have not had time to process my photos, but want to show something.

Pentax KP, WO apo telescope 81mm f/5.9, mounted on Astrotrac. 478 mm f.l. ISO = 400, 1/125 s. Seen from Smiths Ferry, north from Boise. Excellent atmospheric conditions.

I was at lake Minitare outside of Scottsbluff (having driven from near Denver). My setup was a K50 with the 55-300 WR PLM on a decent Manfrotto tripod. I thought for the set-up I used the results are pretty good.

3 pics: Baily's beads, some solar prominence's and a big 'ol solar corona. I have enough images at different exposures that I'd love to attempt to try a stacked image with the flares and full corona taken at different exposures, but I doubt I'll have the time anytime in the near future.

Eclipse from SC

Just a few pics from Seneca, South Carolina - eclipse party in the backyard of my sister-in-laws house. Pentax K3 w/HD DA55-300 and Marumi 58mm ND100000 filter. My niece and I shared the filter with her new Canon she received for a graduation present recently.

A bit late to the party, but had to throw my submission out there. Taken near Sage Hen Reservoir, couple hours north of Boise ID.

Yes, nice results everyone!

Quite enjoyable to experience the phenomenon and happy with PentaxQ/ Nikkor 300mm f4.5 combo for amateur attempt at astrophotography. I like how others got a bit more in the frame so maybe a bit too close but it was def rewarding.

Got some interesting crescents, partial eclipse with clouds, funky "diamond ring" but something very appealing about "whispy" corona/ totality shots.

Great American Eclipse from Carbondale, IL

I took these pictures from Carbondale, IL. I used Pentax K-5 iis (manual mode) and Pentax F* 300 (manual focus) mounted on a tripod. I used a cable release and mirror lock-up to take these pictures. No mirror lock-up during the totality though. These are a few from a whole set of 35 pictures that cover various stages from start to finish.

I made solar filters using Thousand Oaks solar films and used for my observations as well as photography. I removed the filter from my lens during the totality.

Features of of the sun
=================

IMGP0349-1-14 : Face of the new moon (faint though)
IMGP0353-1-15 : Inner corona
IMGP0364-1-17 : Solar prominence
IMGP0365-1-18 : Baily's beads
IMGP0366-1-19, IMGP0369-1-21 : Diamond ring

I like your photos, UNP. Where in Carbondale did you shoot these photos? I have a few in this thread, and you can see where in Carbondale I shot mine. Your Bailey's Beads photo isn't a beads photo in the classic sense, but it's close. That's Probably because of the milky goop we were shooting through that day. Anyway, well done!
