IIRC the D-FA is streets ahead in optical quality (when pushed to its limits), which given the age of the older lens is not surprising, but they seem - accidentally or deliberately - to have spilled a bit of pixie dust into the mix for the new design.
I think that it is next lens that I'll buy. I need good allround zoom, and it fits in everyway. D-FA 28-105 I mean. I have been thinking that I'd like 24-70 or similar, but actually 28 is wide enough and IF i want to go wider then usually 24 is not enough anyway.
