We have a busy night tonight, so a picture probably won't happen. I will try, but it will be a token at best and nonexistent at worst.

I gather you're talking about the D-FA and the older film-era FA? It's a useful focal range. IIRC the D-FA is streets ahead in optical quality (when pushed to its limits), which given the age of the older lens is not surprising, but they seem - accidentally or deliberately - to have spilled a bit of pixie dust into the mix for the new design.

I think that it is next lens that I'll buy. I need good allround zoom, and it fits in everyway. D-FA 28-105 I mean. I have been thinking that I'd like 24-70 or similar, but actually 28 is wide enough and IF i want to go wider then usually 24 is not enough anyway.

I seemed to get Explored with my yesterday beer shot it is so funny. Some times I really try my best, nothing. Then just for fun, flash, beer...explored.

I would go so far as to suggest the DFA28-105 is the best kit lens produced by any brand, ever.

Every K-1 owner should have one. I was late to the party, but have basically retired my DFA24-70 now I have seen the light.

That is quite convincing Sandy. It seems to be great for the money. And I’v seen great examples taken with it, so no reason not to buy that. Great for traveling too.

Does anyone use an iPad for post processing? If so, any recommended apps?

I use the Lightroom Mobile app sometimes. The newest version is much improved and produces very good results, even with RAW files on a modestly-specced iPad. You have to buy into Adobe's rather strange and labored sync process (which doesn't provide nearly enough storage space) and their monthly CC subscription, though.

Very busy night with oldest child's school Christmas concert after an exhausting day. I'm baked. No picture from me today. Sorry.

I'll be switching lenses for the remainder of the month as of today - the Porst has developed a distinct metal-on-metal grinding in the focus helical, so I've taken it off the camera until I can send it off for repair.

I'll be finishing the month with my other 55mm, the K55/2...

Ouch!!!

That's a fair swap, and a good reason for doing so.
