Goes to show it's always worth re-visiting the same places to capture them in their many moods . Nice stuff mate, love a bit of lightning action, might have to get out on my balcony right now as a storm is heading my way.

The Glenelg Pier in SA from a decade ago.

Some 30 years ago my wife and daughter and I walked out on this pier to watch the dolphins play. This is all that's left.
That's a place that drives you pillar to post (if you are sufficiently agile).

The old shorncliffe Pier No.2

Another image taken around the same time as the previous Shorncliffe capture but on the opposite side of the pier.

The image was of no use until I decided to purchase Photoshop which gave me the ability to sufficiently clone out the ugly black light pole. This image was printed onto a product called a Lumitile which is a photo on the back of a 3cm clear resin block. This style of mounting really enhances the depth of an image like this.

Woody Point at sunrise

For those not familiar with Brisbane, Woody Point is located on the southern end of the Redcliffe Peninsula which is to Brisbane's north. It juts out into the north side of Bramble Bay and is accessed by a causeway that is about 2km south west of the Woody Point jetty. There are parklands all along the foreshore starting near the northern end of the causeway and extending all the way to Woody Point. This provides plenty of options for parking and locations to shoot from and I continue to be a return 'customer' as the area is great for capturing storms, sun/moon rise, seascapes etc. Click on the photo to view a larger version in Flickr, as its easier to see the bloke throwing the fishing line in.

How about something on Hardy's Bay

If you've not heard of it, Hardy's Bay is located north of Sydney in the rabbit warren of waterways and suburbs probably populated by people looking to escape the prices and pace of Sydney.

That's nice Tas.
I love the light on the water particularly.

(I honeymooned in Terrigal 48 years ago, remember visiting Woy Woy and Peal Beach and Pretty Beach; must have missed Hardys Bay!
I hadn't been back until 2014 when we stopped for a couple of nights while on a road trip. The area has grown a bit!!)

Ta mate, it was the right time of day to be there for the light even if the sky wasn't overly special.

I'm not surprised you missed it, I'd think 48 years ago there was probably very little there other some some spectacular bushland. In 2014 it was probably the same but the road to get there is real circuitous. I'd have missed a lot of turn offs if I didn't have a Sat Nave to follow. It's a lovely quiet place still but looking at the satellite it's in one of the last areas to be over run with urban sprawl which isn't that far away though so maybe it will all be suburbs before I get back there.

This is the other jetty located further east of the one above but 'pointing' in a WNW direction. I captured this one after sunrise but before the sun was above the hills.
