It does indeed, and this type of subject justifies the use of a wide angle lens. My favourite is the leading line created by the second version, it has a more natural sense of walking along the breakwater. And maybe one for next time is creating the first image again, but then creating a second to the right of frame. A square composition with the wall on the left third works neatly into the theme of your comment.

Cheers Des, I am a bit of a fan of Shorncliffe especially as there's two choices in close proximity. There's a third jetty I haunt up that side of Brisbane at Woody Point. It sits nicely clear of land in to the east and west and even when there's cloud if it's moving quickly an ND filter can open up a number of options. For example I've already posted an image from the trip I captured the first image here, but this one I worked differently and really like the cool look so went with it.
Of course clouds at Woody Point don't need a 9 stop ND filter to make a statement.
Tas
