Jetties & Piers

I haven't been able to find a thread for images of jetties.
(If I am wrong just guide me to the right place!)
You can't go to a beach without a stroll on the jetty if there is one, so let's have a few pics.

These two are at sunrise at Sorrento, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.

Hi Rob, you had a little bit of cloud, which helps with a sunrise/sunset.
I was at Sorrento for a week and a half and there was no cloud at either end of any day!
I recognise the dingy in the first pic!!
Thanks for sharing.

I lived in rye for a couple of years and now frankston, so Iíve got photos of many piers along the bay.
Speaking of clouds at sunset........ Oliverís hill boat ramp.

Great idea for a thread Rod. Some fine shots from you and Rob to start with. I'm in too.

Let's widen out from the Peninsula, while staying in Victoria. This is Port Welshpool Long Jetty in South Gippsland (Little Snake Island and Wilson's Promontory in the background). Built in the 1930s from local Yellow Stringybark (Eucalyptus muelleriana), it's 908m long. It was designed to be strong and wide enough for a train to run on. It has fallen into disrepair, but some restoration works are underway.

K-30 + DA 12-24

The jetty is in bad condition in places. K-S2 + DA 18-135

Not that the cormorants mind. K-3 + FA*300 + Kenko 1.5x TC

A great idea for a thread, and I have a few to add.

This goes back a few years showing late afternoon at the Woody Point jetty on Brisbane's north side.

This is Woody Pt as well but looking south.

Some 30 years ago my wife and daughter and I walked out on this pier to watch the dolphins play. This is all that's left.

A good idea for a themed thread - one of my favourite subjects - location, textures and colours all play a part

No oceans here, just a mud-bottom lake. Lake Grapevine (TX) is an Army Corps of Engineers lake built in the late 1950s.
