It's late, I'm tired, don't have the energy to shoot some splash thing. Going to miss today. Rewind for tomorrow.

My computer issues have been fixed. Feel free to skip to the last sentence if you don't want to read my somewhat now laughable computer story.

Talk about making you think you lost your mind. Out of the blue my MacBook started to tell me my hard drive was full. At the time it didn't strike me as odd as I had been talking more photographs so I figured it was entirely possible that I hadn't been paying attention to how big my photos library had become. So I started deleting things, a lot of things, freeing up what must have been about ⅔ of my hard drive and yet it kept telling me it had only 1.94GB left (and on a 500GB hard drive that isn't enough to allow the computer to function) and yet I couldn't understand why. The last straw was last night after I opened the new portable hard drive I had bought and freed up yet another 25GB of space and set it up to do a back up. I then went to bed. I woke up this morning checked the MacBook and it tells me the last backup failed as ... wait for it...there wasn't enough room on the MacBook's hard drive to process the request. The 25GB I had freed up last night vanished and yet I can't see where it or the other 320GB of space have disappeared to. So now I am thinking I have a computer version of the tasks of Atlas and that at any moment my head is going to explode. So I made an appointment at the Genius Bar and trudged down to the Apple Store after I finished volunteering this afternoon. Long story short the program I use to backup the photos on both my MacBook and 3TB iMac had somehow decided to create a backup on my MacBook. Since there was never enough room to complete a back up on the MacBook it was forever stealing the available space almost the moment it was freed up.

I feel so much better knowing that I wasn't completely out of my mind. There may be other reasons but the never ending quest to free up my MacBook hard drive isn't one of them.

So - I have given up on the days I have missed (although I did take shots every day) - I will however get back in the saddle tomorrow.
Glad you got the computer all sorted out. they are such useful banes on our existence.

Explore...continues to puzzle me, my Monday shot got explored yesterday. That's two this month - a personal best for me. I suspect - and have for a while - that this group and the SIC group helps ignite images in to explore notice. So, thanks for your views/comments/favs etc.

Ouch. I find it hard enough to catch up with a proper keyboard!

My friends has a laptop with bad keys and does that. I keep meaning to replace his keyboard. An external keyboard should also work.

I'm sorry I fell off the wagon. Life somehow has managed to get very busy - although I am not entirely sure why. My plan is to get back on track tomorrow - but I have been telling myself I will get back on track all week and you know how well that worked. Nonetheless I will try hard to do so.

In the meantime I have got some prints made up and I am all ready for my first public offering of my work. Plenty of people have asked so I thought I'd give it a try. If it works - awesome if it doesn't then I will be all set for the next few years with framed fund raising prints. Normally I provide sets of 3 framed prints to 2 groups I support and they offer them as silent auction prizes. The sale is early in April so I will let you know how it goes on the day.

Congrats on the Explore savoche.
Thanks! Nice to have tried a "big one", too I'm more used to the small ones!

I'm off to a mountain cabin tomorrow. I will definitely get some pictures while there, but might not post anything until next week. Will only bring a small laptop, and the cell phone coverage isn't great. It's rather remote, have to go the last half hour or so by snowmobile across a lake.

Sometimes it is nice to unplug and get away. Our family summer cabin has cell/mobile service but it spotty and almost worthless on the weekend and especially long weekends. While it can be annoying it is sometimes lovely being unavailable.

Have a lovely time away.

---------- Post added 03-22-18 at 04:02 PM ----------

Dropped my camera today. Walking along outside to get today shot and I it just fell right out of hand like a didn't even have a grip on it ... it went down on the lens. Fortunately it fell in the snow. The lens was caked. I wiped it off clean but IDK ... : 0
