PP Challenge #264

Welcome to Post Processing Challenge #264! Thank you noelcm for hosting the last challenge.

Its a busy work week for me, so I will have to pull something from the archives which you will hopefully find worth your efforts. This was taken last fall during a drive through the San Juan National Forest in Colorado. The leaves were just starting to change and the early morning fog/mist from the previous day's rain just starting to clear. I exposed to keep from completely blowing out the clouds. Good luck with it.

I will need to close this a little earlier than the traditional week as I will be traveling starting next Tuesday, so I will close this challenge in the late afternoon/early evening of Monday July 16th.

Fantastic image, tempted by a black and white but kept it colour.

Yes. If you get a message "Temporarily Unavailable" - Ignore it and click on the Download tab (Top right ) and it will download after all. Hope that helps.

Given some HDR treatment

Some basic adjustments, took out the roadway and added a sunburst. First picture added a fly fisherman

Time to wrap this up. Sorry to be a little late in closing, but had to work longer than I had hoped and then came home to a home issue to deal with (AC not working) and am leaving on a trip in a few hours.

I will need to brief, but want to thank each of you who contributed to this challenge. Many fine entries, each with a slightly different take on the scene.

D1N0 - You started us off with a very moody, overcast and foggy look to the scene.

JHfwp - You brought to the challenge perhaps the warmest of the processing styles.

graeme83 - You chose to keep much of the landscape shadows.

krre23 - You chose to keep the shadows and use a warmer processing, sort of a cross between JHfwp and graeme23's styles.

noelcmn - You presented two contributions, the only B&W and an HDR attempt.

jcomley - You presented the "greenest" version.

Bruce Clark - You presented a colorful edition.

todd - You presented a very balanced look.

tuggie76 - You had two contributions, each with additions (sunburst, fisherman, color to the clouds and highlights) and subtractions (the guardrail for the road, something I also did).

It is never easy for me to make these selections, but I must:

Third place goes to tuggie76:

Second place to Bruce Clark:

First place and the host for #265 is todd!

Here is my take on the image:

Thanks Glenn, though you know we'd all vote you the winner with your "entry" at the bottom! It's nice having them side by side as I can see what I should have improved on. I did see it when I saw Bruce's entry too after the fact, that I should have selectively pulled out the 'yellows' as you guys (and others) did.
