It must be well past midnight UTC now so I'll add some further introductory info on my lens for the month, an ISCO Isconar 100mm f4.5. It's a preset triplet in an aluminium body with a single blue coating on the front element. It has 10 blades, a minimum focusing distance of 1.5m, and was made in 1953. I did post some pics on the final day of the July single in challenge;

IMGP6831 ISCO Isconar 100mm f4.5 | Pentax K5 & Hexatar Munch? | Flickr

I haven't found too much online about this lens but did find one good (and enthusiastic) review;

Google Translate

- here's hoping I and my copy live up to this!

I'm going Soviet this month. I'm in with the Mir-1B (37mm f/2.8). I bought it from a very cordial Russian guy about 6 months ago over Craigslist. It looks to be in very good condition. I have very few lenses at ~35mm, so this ought to be fun.

If it's acceptable, I'll start a day late.

I'll get my DFA*50/1.4 sometime on the 2nd....

I vote for 40. I would like to see comparison to my M40 I used in July.
Today's shots lead me to the 40 XS. It came with a recently acquired K01 so I'll be using that a bit too. I can't get my head around how small it is!

I hope you enjoy the 40 XS, it has been my "go-to" lens for years, it satisfies me in so many photographic situations.

Work and the rest of life has kept me from using the 40mm LTD this month, I hope to catch up by the end of the weekend.

I am still here but having a few issues with flickr. I seem to be able to comment - albeit slowly, I can upload images but can't do anything with them.
Ho hum....

Right - that's me for the weekend.

I'm all caught up to todays image but it is unlikely i will post over the weekend unless i get somewhere i can use my phone easily.
Going camping - as far as i know there is no wifi in the field and last time there was very little signal. Very good for relaxation, not much good for SIC

Still, plenty of photo opportunities so I will have a few to sort through - see you all the other side.

Sorry, all - I focused this weekend on making progress on processing the ~1,300 shots I took on vacation in May. Got partway through them, so that's something, but my "single in" shooting suffered.

In the next couple of days, I should be able to get through my Antelope Canyon shots. I'm looking forward to that - there are some lovely shots there that I'm eager to process.

I'm in the process of porting my entire RAW library to the cloud. I won't be processing any new images until that process either succeeds or fails.

Bear with me. I'm still shooting the Fat Fifty at anything that gets in its way.

Well, I had a change of plan - didn't go camping - wimped out!
After watching the 40mph gusts create havoc in the garden and seeing the forecast for downpours on the Sunday morning (breaking camp time) took the decision to cancel. We still had our grandson for the weekend though so spent it entertaining him.
Anyway, upshot is I now have to post a few images; had a good night Friday as the storm cleared and left good viewing conditions for some Perseids, cheated for Saturday as managed some longish exposures as part of my Friday night/Saturday morning stargazing and remembered a last gasp image on Sunday.
Back to normality now.

The way I see it, this *is* a backup. Off site, so even if my home system dies or burns down my images should survive.
